About Abaco Builders

Abaco Builders, Inc is based in Tequesta, Florida and proudly serves Northern Palm Beach County and Martin County for over 20 years. We are a licensed and insured, full service construction company that handles everything from preliminary concepts and drawings to permitting and everything in between until the time of project completion. We focus on communication between the on-site supervisors, the crew working on the project, and the client to make sure everything is meeting expectations throughout the duration of the project.

Charles Lofquist

Chuck Lofquist is the founder and president of Abaco Builders, Inc.

I graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Marine Sciences/Aquaculture. Immediately after graduation I was hired by the marine sciences department to teach and manage the aquaculture labs which I did for several years. Although the ocean and its resources are a passion of mine, long term it was not going to pay the bills. One day I received a call from a friend who asked if I was interested in joining their family company, J. Palmer, Inc., an insurance restoration company as an estimator/project manager. Having spent my childhood at my father’s side doing chores around the house as well as spending several summers working for my uncle as a home builder in Charleston W.V., I felt this was an opportunity I was ready for and soon after I was inspecting homes after an insurance loss, preparing the estimate, negotiating the contract price and managing the project, start to finish.

With over a decade of experience handling the simplest water damage claims to the very complex major fires; the industry changing post hurricane Andrew and the remodeling niche of the business becoming more appealing, I sat for the Florida State Building Contractors license, becoming licensed in 1999. Abaco Builders opened our doors that year,  serving Northern Palm Beach County and Martin County continuously since then.

With thirty five years of experience in the local market place our success has been based on listening to the homeowner, providing open and honest communication and providing the best product possible at a fair price.

My wife Jeanne has been by my side from the beginning and we have two children, my daughter Cassie is an educator in North Carolina and my son Chas who has stepped in to assume the project management role for Abaco Builders.

In my spare time I enjoy doing projects around the house, gardening, fishing, diving and watching college football.

When I can get away for some down time I often travel to Green Turtle Cay, Abaco Bahamas where we have a family cottage which we purchased in the 1960’s. When there, I find plenty to keep me busy, doing projects and fishing and diving in the beautiful surrounding waters.

Chas Lofquist

Charles A. Lofquist III is the project manager for Abaco Builders, Inc.

I grew up running around my dad’s job sites at a very young age, watching my dad interact with the homeowners and craftsmen and helping anytime I could including fully renovating our home in Tequesta.

My interests at a young age included sports, fishing, diving and helping dad, whether it was around the house or on a job site. At a young age I had no idea that someday dad would actually pay me for my hard work!

I followed my passion for football, earning a scholarship to play college football at Florida Institute of Technology, the school my dad graduated from. In 2012, F.I.T. had their first ever football team,  D-2 program in the Gulf South Conference. The program really excelled for being such a new program but unfortunately the Covid-19 pandemic caused the school to curtail the program less than a decade after it started.

I graduated in 2016 with a B.S. in Business with a focus on Sports Management. After graduation I moved back to Tequesta and formally joined forces with my dad as the project manager while continuing to develop my skills in the remodeling industry. Being a full-time on site project manager has really allowed me to understand and learn from all the different tradesmen in the industry as I sharpen my skills.
